British War and Victory Pair to 204088 Pte. H. Billington of the Leicestershire Regiment W.I.A.

Howard Billington joined the 6th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment on 4th May 1915 and entered France in the Spring of 1916. His Battalion joined the 110th Brigade of the 37th Division. Whilst serving on the Somme he saw action at the Battle of Bazentin Ridge on the 14th July 1916 and the capture of Gueudencourt on the 26th of September 1916. Pte. Billington next participated in the Battle of Cambrai in 1917. Finally, he was engaged in the Great German Spring offensive, (whilst his Battalion was serving with the 21st Division), in which he was severely wounded in late March 1918.

Pte. Billington was discharged as a result of his wounds on 12th April 1918 at the age of 22.

The medal pair is sold with copies of the MIC and SWB list.
