Indian General Service Medal 1854, 2 Clasps Burma 1885-87, Burma 1887-89 to 7531 Pte. J. Hopkins 1st Battalion the Rifle Brigade

Before the Third Burma War, the 1st Battalion of the Rifle Brigade was based at Belgaum in India. Pte. J. Hopkins, along with his battalion, was posted to Burma in December 1890 to take part in the Burma War.  The 1st Battalion Rifle Brigade joined the Upper Burma Field Force in March 1886, which was involved in numerous minor engagements against the Burmese Dacoits until 1890. As a result, Pte. J. Hopkins was awarded the Indian General Service Medal with the dated Burma clasps of 1885-87 and 1887-89.

The medal is in N.E.F. condition with minor edge bruises and slightly loose suspender.
