Full length Tintype of an Artilleryman with Drawn Sabre
The moustached artilleryman of the 1870’s period is wearing a kepi with crossed cannons insignia. He is also wearing a five buttoned frock coat, general issue trousers and the regulation US army belt fastened with a rectangular brass plate. He is resting his hands on the handle of his sabre and his 2 ring curved metal sword scabbard can be seen hanging from his waist belt.
The tintype is fitted into a thin cardboard mount with a red border. The actual tintype measures 9 cm in length and 6 cm in width.
There are a number of scratches on the tintype, particularly to the left hand side. However, they are not on the image of the figure itself.
