Mid-11th Century Viking Stirrup Mount SOLD
This Viking stirrup mount is in the form of an animal head with large ears. It is rectangular with four pairs of apertures plus three fixing points, two of which still retain their iron rivets. The snout of the beast is particularly prominent. The mount has an even patina and is complete.
The stirrup mount measures 40 mm in length and 30 mm in width.
