Description
9th Century Anglo-Saxon Strapend with Silver Inlay SOLD
This bronze strapend is of the East-Anglian variety and is in a very good state of preservation. The strapend is in the shape of an animal head with pronounced eyes and a pointed snout. The main body of the strapend incorporates an “S” scroll design created from silver wire. There are three complete silver inlay scrolls on a nielo field, which is now missing. The strapend still retains its two securing studs.
This is a high quality strapend in very good condition. It measures 33 mm in length and 10 mm in width.
