2nd Century Roman Bronze Ring Stylised Hercules
This substantial 2nd century Roman bronze ring has an excellent dark green patina (as can be seen in the image). It is decorated with a stylised figure of Hercules holding a club in the right hand and possibly a lion skin in the other. The figure is engraved upon a slightly raised oval bevel, which is decorated with incised dots around the edge.
The ring is a British find and measures 2.2 cm. in diameter. Wearable, probably on a man’s little finger.
