Romano/British 2nd Century Bronze Zoomorphic Knife Handle    SOLD

This very unusual bronze knife handle is in the shape of a panther and a dog. The fairly detailed panther’s head faces away from the blade (which is not present) towards the head of a Celtic-style hound. A small piece of the dog’s snout is missing, but the handle is rare and still retains much of its silvering.

The knife handle measures 4 cms in length.
