1914-15 Star Trio to 11429 Pte. H. Harris of the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.

Condition- GVF/NEF.

Pte. Horace Harris joined the 8th (service) Battalion of the King’s Royal Rifle Corps, which was part of the 41st Brigade of the 14th (Light) Division. The 8th Battalion landed at Boulogne and was in action at the Battle of the Hooge in April 1915 and the Second Attack on Bellewaarde on 24th May 1915.

On 29th April 1916, Pte. Harris suffered a gunshot wound in the left arm whilst in the trenches. He was treated for this on the hospital ship Lanfranc. However, he was back in action on the Somme from July 1916. The 8th Battalion fought in the Battle of Delville Wood on the 24th August and the Battle of Flers-Courcelette on 15th September, where the Battalion captured Switch Trench suffering heavy losses during the action.

Pte. Harris later transferred to the Royal Engineers with the service number 247831.

The medals are sold with copy of MIC confirming entitlement to 1914-15 Star Trio.
