Late 11th Century Bronze Lattice Stirrup Mount
This 11th century bronze stirrup mount is lozenge shaped with an open work lattice design. It is classified as a class A Type 12 openwork stirrup mount. Each of the seven lattice intersections is mounted with a half spherical decorative boss. Although the top fixing point of the stirrup mount is broken, it is still a very attractive piece.
The stirrup mount is a Yorkshire find and measures 40 mm in length whilst the width is 25 mm.
