14th Century Heraldic Stud Stylised Flower Design
This copper alloy heraldic stud depicts a very clear, but stylised four petalled flower or leaf shape with a curving stalk in green enamel. The background colour on the shield has been lost, but it still retains its slightly bent fixing prong. This shield shaped stud has a very good patina.
The stud was discovered in Lancashire and measures 18 mm in length and 16 mm in width.
