Early 15th Century Bronze Purse Bar
This small bronze purse bar consists of a central boss and short decorated side bars. There is an elliptical loop with ridged bands which swivels within the central bars. One of the side bars still retains a circular turning filament, which would have been attached to a purse bar frame.
This is a much scarcer purse bar than the long armed types. The purse bar measures 50 mm in length and 50 mm in width and it has a very even dark green patina. It may have been intended for use by a child.
