German K98 WWII Early Issue Bayonet with Scabbard SOLD
The bayonet has the late 1930's dark brown wooden grip. It is in very good clean condition with no rust or pitting and the blade still retains some of its original blue tone.
The scabbard is also in good condition and although there are two small dents, they do not detract from its overall quality.
Both bayonet and scabbard have matching Waffenamt impressed symbols. The two impressed stamps at the top of the bayonet handle show a very clear stylised eagle with the letters/numbers WaA 253 below. This mark can also be located on the rear of the bayonet grip, the securing button and at the base of the scabbard.
The maker's mark on the bayonet reads E12042.
