German Third Reich Captioned Military Photograph Album
This German Third Reich captioned military photograph album belonged to a driver in an Infantry Regiment. The front cover of the album bears a metal German helmet badge at the top left and contains approximately 142 photographs, 14 of which are military postcard size including 4 studio photographs.
The early photos date from 1934 in the Protectorate, moving on to soldiers on board ship in December 1940 and time spent in the Balkans.
Following this, the album features many war shots of France during 1940, including excellent uniform photographs, destroyed villages, the Maginot line, crashed aircraft, abandoned French tanks, artillery manoeuvres with horses and French prisoners of war.
The album concludes with quality photo postcards of German officers and a military wedding.
The album measures 32.5 cm. in length and 23 cm. in width.
