Sixth Plate Tintype of Early 1860's Federal Officer with Military Backdrop of a Fort
The subject in the tintype wears a seven buttoned full length frock coat and his slouch hat is placed on a table to the officer's right. His military trousers are also visible and he has a full bushy beard, a moustache and side burns.
The case is complete with both its catches and is made of brown leather, which covers a wooden shell. Inside the case, there is a bright burgundy coloured velvet pad on the left, whilst the tintype sits neatly in the right side mounted within a decorated brass protector. This in turn has an ornate brass trim and is covered with protective glass.
The image is extremely clear and is in excellent all round condition.
