Early Georgian Indenture dated 25th March, 1725

An early Georgian indenture written between John Stephenson (weaver) and Sarah Stephenson, of the old artillery ground within the Liberty of the Tower of London in the county of Middlesex, William Dawson weaver of London and William Stephenson of Broughton in Furness, Lancaster.

John Stephenson apparently inherited his father's debts, which went back to the reign of Charles I in 1636, 1637 and 1640. The indenture has several small holes in the vellum, but overall it is in good condition with three attractive seals and well defined signatures.

The indenture measures 58cm. in width and is 56cm. in length.
