This late 14th century tanged, iron crossbow bolt has a diamond - shaped head. It is very solid and is armour piercing.
It is an English find and was discovered in the moat of Warwick castle in the 1950s. The crossbow bolt measures 98 mm in overall length, 16 mm in width, whilst the tang measures 14 mm in length. It has been professionally conserved and is in very good condition.
